Easter chocolate overdose fueled nightmares.
Me and the Raggedy Ann doll that, as I mentioned in the last episode, I kicked out of my bedroom every night and made sleep face down in the hallway after watching the clown doll come to life in ‘Poltergeist’. (No, my face does not seem to portray terror being masked by smile. Why would you say that?)
In the newest episode, I mention this photo. This is Emmett Kelly, dressed as his clown character, Weary Willie, and he is carrying a bucket of water, trying to help, during the tragic Hartford Circus Fire in 1944. He jumped in to help immediately and pulled several children from the burning tent. According to family, he was profoundly affected by that day for the rest of his life.

Clowns, clowns, clowns....that is my entire world right now. Working on finishing up the podcast ep this weekend. That is my solemn pledge, nothing but clowns. There’s even a clown in my home now, keeping a constant watch on me, unrelenting in pushing me to work and to never leave my chair. And I don’t dare get up, as there is an unspoken threat in his menacing glare and the whip he holds in his hand. He’s either the world’s most effective podcast boss, a hallucination brought on when my brain broke during clown research, or the most patient murderer ever. But never mind, to ponder this is a waste of time. I’ll know by Sunday night, after all. But for now, back to work. However, I will be releasing another audio teaser today! Clown man says that’s ok.

The other night I crossed paths with the statue of my ancestor, Roger Conant, the founder of Salem. I’ve always loved the dramatic and compelling way in which he has been immortalized. Additionally, for all those who are still immature 12 year olds at heart like me, he’s also been known to elicit a giggle or two. You see...many have taken notice that from certain angles it appears he is performing a pretty intense session of self-love, or as I’m guessing an old-timey Puritan might call it, abusing ye olde wicked stick. Oh grandpa!
